Life
- Living in Portland, Oregon with my wife and two French bulldogs. Our kids are off to start their careers or finishing college, so we enjoy(?) an empty nest.
- Living in remission from Diffuse Large B-Cell Lympohma. Was diagnosed in early 2023 and spent most of that year in treatment. In remission now with a regular diet of scans and blood tests hoping it doesn't relapse. 🤞
- Building this website to teach myself HTML/CSS and to be part of the craft internet.
- Trying to improve my 5K time.
- Playing Baldur's Gate 3 on Playstation 5 (which is fabulous).
- Reading all of Clive Cussler's Oregon Files.
- Slowly restoring our two vintage Mercedes: a 1985 380SL convertible and a grey import 1978 280SL convertible 4-speed.
Work
- Partner and founder of Matchstick where I advise creative agencies and their owners on their contracts, how to negotiate them successfully, and other legal stuff.
- Developing a (somewhat) innovative subscription program for our clients (unique in the legal field, anyway).
- Wrote The Service Agreement Field Manual about negotiating service agreements for creative agencies (it might be the book on service agreement negotiation, as I'm not aware of another).
